IMHO fan page is the way to go. You can easily get 25 friends to like it for the URL, the number of people willing to press “like” will be more real than the number of people accepting your friend request (passive vs active involvement).. and if you connect the page with your profile you can easily post from a smartphone or whatever 🙂

Yea I’d go with fan page too. I’ve actually got one that needs some updating, thanks for the reminder!

Max D. is right, I would like to know how many people sought out my fan page versus just accepting my friend request…

Dont forget, it is totally allowed by Facebook to have your own personal profile and a fan page too. This way, you can sort of promote your Fan Page via your personal profile – just dont do it all the time, because you end up being considered a “spammer”, discretion is key I think.

In fact, I dunno how things work now, but back in the day you couldnt haver a fan page if you didnt have a personal profile to be the administrator of said page – however I think now it works differently.

Anyways, +1 from me on Fan Page too

I just created a fan page too. When I am on soundcloud it says… Share as Vince or share as vinny blanc since the two are linked.

fan page, imo sending friends requests isn’t building your fan base. 99% of people will accept a request just so that their list is bigger :p very few of them will take the time to listen to your music or come out to your gigs.

on a fan page, everyone who has “liked” it is on your page because theyre interested in your music and gigs. you have a true fan base on a page who you can interact with.

Well I guess the consensus is to go with a proper facebook fan page.
