    From a fitting standpoint that is your best option.

    Hi Terry,

If so, I have the following concern.</span>

    <span style=”line-height: 1.5em;”>I want to buy the DDJ SP1 and integrate it with my CDJs & SL4. Usually on my dj table,  I setup my CDJs with the flight cases on, I just takeoff the flight case covers. So, the flat long base of my laptop stand (Crane laptop stand) goes under the fight case, while the flight case(with the CDJ inside) rest on it . But with the structure of the Pioneer X-stand, am still wondering how to integrate it to my setup, as it has no flat extended base  on which my flight case(with the CDJ inside) can rest on.</span>

    I was thinking of buying another Crane laptop stand; but not sure if the DDJ SP1 would sit properly on it.

    what are your thoughts?

    Well that is a tricky setup indeed.

    Judging by the dimensions of the SP-1 a crane stand could work and the crane is really reliable (I swear by them for my laptop stands), however the SP-1 is meant to be “hammered on” and if you are a really hard drum pad user as I am, even the crane stand will wobble. This is why the X-Stand with its large support surface is really great, but I see that it might not give you enough lift and may not work with the flight cases.

    Honestly I would consider not going stand at all and instead place the SP-1 on the booth in front of the mixer. The SP-1 is low profile enough and small enough so you can still easily access your mixer, but you have the push buttons right at your fingertips to hammer on. Now this is just a thought as you probably need some way to adjust the cabling… but in your case I would experiment a bit before settling for a stand.

    If you find yourself playing on flight cases a lot I would go with the Stanton uberstand. I use that now for my Maschine and it is the perfect height right above my DJM 900. Now when I’m not on flight cases though its a bit too high for my liking so I am definitely considering buying the X stand for that. It looks to be the best option out there even if its a bit pricey. I might just get some pieces of wood and some nails and black spray paint and make my own.
