ParticipantSo what is the question ? Do you want to buy gears to produce? Or do you want to buy gears to DJing ?

ParticipantWell both really but im torn. I still need a live sound setup for my DJ gear. but at the same time I love producing in my studio.

ModeratorAnd unfortunately, the two don’t play too well together. You need different stuff for producing (both in monitor/pa and in controller) than you do for DJ-ing.
And although you have a very nice grandma, I am afraid that 200$ or less is not gonna get you much (quality gear).
I’d make myself a list of what I need and want, then put it in priority order. Take priority one, do some research into what piece of gear you would like to get and use the money for that. Better to slowly build than now try to get it all in order for 200$.

ModeratorHey Bossman,
You are welcome.
There is a pretty simple reason for the relative quiet at the forum, imho. We used to have loads of problems with the old forum, to the point were new members couldn’t even sign up. Phil decided to switch to the current forum format to tackle a few of those major issues, in the knowledge that first quarter of this year should see a totally revamped DDJT site WITH a new forum.
The current forum works, but is not all it should be. For example, no private message function, just to name one.
And I understand there are still a few problems (smaller but there) from time to time.
An alternative theory is that I talk to much and everyone has gotten the point that they figure “hey, why reply, we can just wait for Chuck to do it”.
Perhaps I should go silent for a week or two, what do you think?

ParticipantHaha well. I mean your cool and all. I just like the fact of commuicating with other DJs. Where I am from, its really small and hard to get my foot in the door and Youtube doesnt notice me at all so here I am. I am very unsure how these pro DJs get direct audio from their controllers and cpus into their videos. I know DJ Ravine uses a camcorder and some wires but I havent the slightest on how or what to get for that stuff. So I have crappy vids with a crappy controller and Im making no progress there. I am not noticed anywhere and I AM a good DJ. I just never get the opportunities I need to sport it.
PS I DJ on the picture attached. Is a piece a sh**

ModeratorSorry Bossman, picture is not working.
Recording can be done in a few way:
1) Controller record out to a recording device, anything will do really. (don’t use extra master out RCAs, unless you tape down your master fader! 🙂 ). Simple, run your camera, record your session. When done, get some simple video editing software (don’t know any of the top of my head) through away the original sound the camera recorded (or keep it so you can use it so sync the recording you made from the controller. Once synced, save the video, now with high quality sound.
2) DJ Software record functionality. Works well, just make sure if you have anything hooked up extra to your controller to route the signal through the software or you’ll be missing stuff.
3) Booth out. If you don’t have record out, but DO have booth out, you could use that signal as well. Be aware booth out normally doesn’t send out the mic signal, so if you use the mic you will have to turn POST on to get the mic sound out of the booth out too.
