    If you use it as a MIDI controller (which you can do) it depends on the DJ software you use if you can record on the computer.

    But people are right unlike the Aero you cannot record directly to a USB stick.

    I am having the same issue. From what I have found the only way to do it is to buy an external digital audio recorder. This process is very stressful. It is hard to figure out which one you need to buy and what inputs and outputs are compatible with the pioneer xdj-r1. If anyone has a solution that does not involve plugging into a computer, I WOULD REALLY ENJOY IT. PLEASE HELP!!

    When I used my XDJ-R1 as a midi controller for running traktor pro 2 I recorded through traktor fairly easily.

    When I used the XDJ-R1 to mix with CD or USB I plugged in my laptop and recorded the output using Audacity (http://audacityteam.org/)

    Something like the Reloop Tape would do. Hook up to your master out, hook the through connection to your speakers, done.
