I’m thinking there must be more.

The news you mentioned (whic is the same ones I’ve seen) are on controller and mixers. But what about PA and DJ lighting. There’s got to be news in those areas…

    Best regards

We know our esteemed colleagues are no strangers to PA and light either. Not a word on headphones either (and we all know Phil loves a good can review) or on stuff like stands, backpacks (well granted the Decksaver falls into that category – loosely).

Oh well, two more days of show I think. Never know what rabbit is gonna appear from the hat.

Phil must have heard me. Just in, a Cerwin-Vega desktop/monitor-ish speaker family and an Odyssey Laptop/Tablet/Mediaplayer stand. 🙂

Funny enough most PA and light news are now made at Musikmesse Frankfurt as they have a show called “New Sound and Light Fair” and that is where that stuff usually happens.

But fear not I will be at Musikmesse as the local PA and light guy and cover that for you 😉

Pff … like I won’t go and see for myself!

I’ll actually be helping build a booth for a lighting (DMX) software/hardware company from Holland 🙂

    Gonna be a fun time!

As you mention speakers, I think the new JBL EON 600 series looks very nice and I assume sound-wise brings them closer to the JBL PRX series.

Thanks I put that on my list of things to look out for.

I look at this year’s NAMM the way I look at tablets.  We’re in a state of small growth.  Part of it is the economy, but another is simply an uncertainty in the innovation and where the consumer will go.

Companies could make control systems that allow you to use your hands in the air, or tie in a display on Google Glass…but would anyone buy it?

Going back to tablets, I was given a Nexus 10 for my birthday last August…and worried if some new/better tablet would pop up and make me want to upgrade.  Nothing yet.  The controllers are the same issue.  We’ve hit limits on what can be crammed in and it’s more now DJs have to utilize and evolve the tools they’ve been given.
