The traktor site has ample information about what you minimally need and what is recommended.
So match that to what you currently have. Reinstalling your software to make it a clean install is always a good idea. Upgrade RAM if you can (try getting 4GB of it in if it is less) and swap the harddisk for an SSD (this will make a lot of difference in both booting and running speed and enhance resistance to mechanical failure on the road.
Tip: buy an external case for the harddisk coming out of the laptop and stick the drive in there, that way you can still use it.
There are quite a few recent threads about laptop choice on here. Just do a search. Also there will be some articles over on the blog on the subject too.
Finally, if you need more info, be sure to include more specific technical specifications of your laptop in your post. Hard for us to give you an exact answer if all we have to go on is “a 5-year old Acer”.
