Mind my asking what you use this particular cable for? You are going from a stereo jack to two rca. But most controllers (or any kind of serious PA/DJ audio device for that matter) will have balanced outputs (XLR or Jack). The balanced jack out is in fact a mono signal. In which case you’d actually need the cable you linked too (well, not that particular one perse, but one with the same connectors) and you’d need two.
As far as gold-plated goes, I’d stay away from those. It really doesn’t help in a DJ/PA environment and only drives up the price.
As for colored cables. There is a brand that has dark blue cables (DAP), but that won’t make much difference. If you look for so-called patch cables, they come in a variety of colors, but are specifically made for patching outboard gear in studios and will typically be jack-jack (balanced or unbalanced) or Y-cable (insert cables going from TRS to two TS Jacks).
An option is to either make your own cables or have someone make them for you. Neutrik (the best connnectors around) usually have several color “rings” that identify your connectors. The cable will most likely be black, but you could have bright orange, yellow, red, green and a few more on your connectors on both ends. And since the business end is the connector which you will be patching in and out, it’s most important, imho, to have those clearly labelled. So you don’t pull out a cable that isn’t yours :-).
It will look something like this http://www.bax-shop.nl/jack/neutrik-bsp9-tule-wit/product-details.html.
Obviously you CAN look for bulk cable in a certain color, it does exist, but you usually end up having to buy long lengths of it.
Hope that helps some and greetinx.
