Do you have access to another computer? Might try updating it on that one?

I do, will try that, thank you. I’m not entirely sure whether it is app (Traktor DJ) related, or Controller. I adjusted the iPad sound earlier and it seemed to work…will give it a whirl later, needs to work properly for NYE!

Well, I managed to get the unit working after hooking it up to my laptop and running the updates…worked like a dream for a week then….the tempo just dropped…I have a very very chilled out collection now! Traktor has a very chilled out approach to customer service, ie they don’t provide any…so, is this a faulty controller or operator error?! Any help greatly received 🙂

It’s weird. Why would it work for a week and then go down the dumps? And why would it turn down the speed. Does it show the correct bpm in the player and just sound a lot slower, or is the displayed bpm on par with what you hear? And would you say that all songs sound about the same PERCENTAGE slower?

I am thinking that maybe for some reason the controller sends a (faulty) -x% pitch control midi signal?

Can you get your hands on another S2 mkII, just for a test? Play with yours til you have the problem, then unplug, plug in the other one and see if you can reproduce the problem on the other S2.

My money is still on a hardware (possbibly induced by the firmware version!) issue.

But you’ll have to take some more steps to determine this for sure.

Thanks Vintage, you are really helping me unravel things! All songs are about the same % slower, although sometimes one deck starts off ok! The BPM displayed is less than what it should be. First couple of tracks can be manually adjusted, then the tunes slow so much as to be unplayable. All software is up to date, latest version of Traktor DJ, although I haven’t upgraded to iOS7 yet, as I’m not certain Traktor DJ has resolved the issues it had.

    Hey David,

You are losing me here. All this time I was thinking you were using Traktor on a laptop, not an iPad. And since iOS7 doesn’t work on a PC/Laptop … 😀 .

Somehow (be it hardware or software, although I keep gravitating to hardware as it seems to happen with several PC’s/laptops) your software seems to be getting a midi signal telling it to slow down, which it appears to do faithfully.

Again, trying to get your hands on another controller of the same type would help in making sure it is indeed a hardware problem, in which case you can start the RMA procedure and get it fixed.

You can access your previous versions of traktor(on pc). C-programfiles-nativeinstruments-tractor2-backup.

Run an older version and see if it is, indeed the new update
