    Howdy!

Nah mobile DJ or club DJ… there is no real. Real are only the things you do and if you are a good DJ or not does not depend where or what you play, but is sentenced by the audience who is having a great time (or not).

I live in both worlds actually and usually gig with my trusty Terminal Mix 4 and MacBook pro (Serato DJ).

But also the tools do not define how good you are…

    They don’t, Terry? Darn …

    Howdy Matt!

Yep, another (long time) mobile jock here. Although like Terry I live in both worlds occasionally. Started as a mobile DJ in 1977 (yeah, I know …), went on to being a full time (5-star hotel) club DJ around the age of 21-22. Came back to mobile DJ-ing with a show owned by a friend of mine (this was the days of the bigger the gear the better :-)). I still do the occasional gig for him, but mostly on my own. The same stuff you mentioned. Weddings and other significant events (private or corporate).

I have several setups. It’s been a progression over the years. One of my main issues is dependability and continuity. So I am still in a situation where I have two CDJ(like) players and both my midi-mixer and MC6000 controller are standalone mixers too.

I have one iDJ Pro iPad setup that is very simple, but effective. For easy, quick events. I think it’s the best iPad device out there because of the iPad becoming an integral part of the unit. But that’s just me.

    Greetinx and good luck!

    Chuck
