    3.5mm jacks are fine.

as long as the broadcasting software can use the source.

test the input, as you can record locally the input using “BUTT” as well as broadcasting to Mixify.

if the recording sounds good, then you are ok to go.

    What is your setup?
    What genre(s) do you play?

    Do you have a webcam?

The stations I play on are always looking for DJs to play.

any more help… just ask away.

    Hi Rick.

Well Mixlr uses its own app to pick up the sound apparently (i use Traktor, and it bypasses it i think) . So im looping the sound out of my S2 and back into the PC soundcard via the 3.5mm

Mixify ive yet to set up ( i think it uses Icecast or shoutcast i believe).

    Im using a desktop PC

    3.5 quad core processor

Just a normal inbuilt soundcard on the mobo (hence the upgrade question)

Current “style” is 80s edits/reworks – from disco up to something such as new wave.

    Also NuDisco.

    No webcam.

Cheers for the reply m8 ๐Ÿ™‚

mixify uses either direct from traktor, or butt (butt.sourceforge.org) which are the best options of them

    it runs icecast

best way is to do a private event on mixify to test your setup.

Yea i thought Mixify might pull it direct from Traktor, which i prefer the idea of. Ive just got to set it up ย now ๐Ÿ˜›

Will it then pull the signal through the pc soundcard, or direct from Traktor and through Icecast, completely bypassing the pc soundcard?

    Cheers bud ๐Ÿ™‚

traktor streams the audio out to mixify.

nothing to do with your soundcard.

I have traktor running seperate on my laptop, and I use butt, and Adobe Flash Media Encoder (FME) on my main computer to take theย  feed from my mixer and web camera.

FME video to livestream.com based stations, and butt to mixify.

I would not swap soundcards to get rid of the 3.5mm plug for this purpose. If I were to ever hook up to anything (semi)professional, like a PA or mixer, I’d definitely get something with balanced outputs (either 6.3mm or XLR).

    Greetinx,

    Chuck
