I think you should record your VIDEO with the camera you’re using, but record the audio in your DJ software.

Youtube has an editor built in, so you could upload your soundtrack separately, mute the audio from the video, and match up your uploaded sountrack with the video.

You’ll end up with cleaner audio and no sounds from you flipping switches or moving around, or especially outside noise.

We have an article with more detail on this coming.

youtube has some impressive technology that searches for copyrighted material, so don’t be suprised if the audio won’t work on Ipads and mobile devices if you are using other people’s tracks…they allow it to stay for PC viewers for some reason

Echoing what D-Jam has already said, the easiest way to do this is to record the video with your camera. also make sure you record your mix using your dj software.

When it comes to editing, you would use the camera audio to help you line up the mix recording so it is in sync. The you would mute the video sound so you have the video as recorded and the high quality sound recording fully in sync.

If you have a mac, imovie will make this a doddle (I used to have an active YouTube channel edited entirely in imovie!)

    hope that helps 🙂

Or if you have windews, Windows Movie Maker should do the same job
