Click your username under your avatar to edit your profile. You picture is pulled from the gravatar service – there’s another post in this section that explains that.

That still doesn’t explain how to upload a photo for your profile. I clicked the update profile option and there is no section for uploading a profile pic. Even in the update profile page, if I click on the default avatar, it just redirects me to my profile page. Please advise.

Nevermind, I found the forum topic about how to upload a profile pic/avatar.
