have you got your output routings the wrong way round? i.e. channels for monitor set as master and vice versa?

when you use timecode, Traktor send back the individual track sounds to the A&H mixer. No mixing is done inside Traktor at this point. So if you record what is inside traktor, it is just the two decks with deck faders full open. If you want to record your mix, you will have to record from the mixer or (if the mixer can do that) take a record out from the mixer (through usb) back to Traktor. The latter I am not sure of right now with your specific setup, but recording from the mixer output will definitely work. Best if the mixer has record out ports, those are master fader independent usually.

Hi. Thanks for the replies. DJ Vintage: I don’t think that I need to do that as a work around because I know that I have successfully recorded from Traktor before with no usb etc. It was just a long time ago as I stopped using Traktor for a while and can’t remember now.

I have taken sone screenshots and these are probably the best way of showing what the issue is but I can’t see how to put them into a post.

I may be crazy, but unless you are using your A&H mixer as a midi controller/mixer, there is no way for Traktor to know what to record. All it has is the two timecode inputs and the tracks you selected.

So, hopeful someone can enlighten me, I am ready to learn.

    Hi

Thanks for the reply. I just use the A and H as a normal mixer. I have just checked Itunes and found the first mix I did last year and it was recorded correctly so it can be done! I can’t word the bbcodes but here is a link to show the screenshots:

I haven’t had time to delve into it deeply, but it seems you have Traktor set to internal mixer. In that case you CAN record the master output in Traktor. I am lost as to how this all ties in together, since Traktor has no way of knowing what you do with your sliders and everything, UNLESS (as I said before) the mixer is connected to the PC and functions as a midi mixer.

Will check out the pictures better later this week. Hopefully someone else might have something clever to say on the matter sooner.

    Hi

    I have found the solution:

    http://www.traktorbible.com/articles/recording_with_external_mixer.aspx

I had to change the settings in Traktor to external mixer and connected a cable from the main out on the Traktor box to the mixer and changed the external input source to input deck c.
