Ornette’s Crazy is an interesting choice of an intro track; a little underwhelming. The intro track ought to advertise the rest of the mix, like a callout. Start with something smooth but with attitude. You start out with deep house and finish with progressive house — I tend to be genre- inconsistent, too 😉 no worries.

A good DJ production overall which shows that you have elevated taste in house music (the deep house genre is a thinking man’s dance-music genre). It’s a good thing that you added some bouncier, proghouse tracks towards the end. Keep in mind that there’s zero commercial value in deep house, something to consider when you’re trying to get on air or in large clubs and earn decent pay. Even though I dig the deep house sound, as someone who’s trying to get paid I know that those tracks had better stay home when I go out and work.

Well done . Thanks for posting

Really appreciate the feedback, thanks. The mix was originally planned for two halves, hence the transition from deep to more proggy/house mid way through. Regarding Ornette as an opener, I guess I always plan mixes like this as if it’s a mixtape to be listened to in the car / at home rather than in a club, so I like to ease people in. And yeah I agree about there being no money in deep house 🙂 I just like listening to it is all.. my taste has definitely mellowed with age!
