Wouldnt use the Launchpad with anything else other than Ableton Live as it is a controller strictly attached to Live’s workflow. It “can be used” with other software, but in reality it will be just a matrix of buttons (it only sends note on-off messages) and unless you are a Max/MSP programmer freak there’s not much else you can do with it – dont get me wrong, its a great device for its purpose and I love it – not regreted getting it, BUT its purpose is not what you are trying to achieve with your set up!

The rest of the stuff seem all like they could do what you are planning to do but better wait for more informed replies by people who use them.

And actually what is your preferred software? I think this will play a big role in choosing the right controller-mixer.

What CDJ/DJM have you got as I’d probably stick with that and possibly go with the F1. Then I’d use 2 chns for the CDJs and 2chns for Traktor Decks & Remix decks

Both Traktor and Serato are controlled by either Midi or Timcode so any controller can be mapped to either. One big difference is you can use any soundcard with Traktor whereas with Serato it has to be either a Rane soundcard, a Rane mixer or a controller with a built in certified soundcard like the Pioneer DJ SX or the programe won’t work. I used Traktor in the past but not Serato so can’t comment on it’s functions. The Z2 and F1 certainly look intersting, particulaly if you’re in to remixing on the fly with the sample deck function. However, another option would be to use something like the APC20 or 40 with Ableton along side your current set up.
If you are looking to replace your current set up you’d have no problem get a price that would allow you purchase a controller and software package
