It is called “manual beatmatching at the time you want to mix out/in” there is only so much that software can do.

So to maintain the mix when a song changes BPM I must accordingly beatmatch and tempo shift the other song to keep them in line? 🙂

Supposedly Traktor 2.6 has more flexible beat gridmarks but I have not had a chance to test any betas myself.

Meanwhile, these kinds of abrupt BPM songs, best to use them for transitioning from something slow to fast and vice-versa.

Yes at least that is what I do when I notice that the beatgrid is not working… if it gets hairy right in the transition and you cannot “outnudge” the difference I cover my tracks with a filter quickly 😛

Yes good old filter (and delay/reverb) washouts! Saves any transition that starts to sound odd.

What I did when I used Traktor was set a new grid marker where the BPM changes, and make a note of what it changes to in the comments.
When it reached the point where the tempo would change, I would go into the grid tab, and enter the new bpm.
