KeymasterThey all do very different things and Maschine is not ment to trigger anything in your DJ software, but is ment to be used with Maschine Software.
I am sorry and do not want to sound disrespectful, but this is like saying “I want fruit, which is the best one: Apples, Cherries or Bananas.”
So I would recommend you go to the product pages of these products and dig into their manuals (each one has the manual online), there you can see what they are ment to do and then decide.
If you have further more specific questions, feel free to ask them here and we will try to answer them gladly.September 14, 2012 at 11:13 am #1012152Claus Hyttel
ParticipantFor triggering samples in Traktor i would say Midi Fighter as the other two are built for a certain kind of software and more for production (some might disagree here)
But have a look around on youtube what people do with the different ones and go for what you feel would fit you… im actually looking at the same stuff but i want it more for the production part to do remixes and mash ups and im leaning towards either Launchpad or Maschine

MemberI got Maschine Mikro and I think it’s the best bit of kit I’ve ever bought. There are so many sounds in there; I use it to write whole songs with. I’ve also used it as a Traktor controller and it works well (I assigned the pads to cues and you can tap out rhythms using tracks loaded in to a deck). However, I bought it as a production tool first and foremost as I think that’s what it’s best for, if you were using it primarily as a controller, I’d look for something cheaper.
It’s also worth mentioning that if you’re using Traktor 2.5 the only controller that will work with the remix deck is the Kontrol F1, there is no midi implementation for other controllers yet, (but the new Maschine has coloured pads like the F1, so maybe this will change). I was pretty bummed about this as I was hoping to assign the Maschine pads to fire the loops, one shots, etc

Memberhahaha Terry_42 i know what you mean but actually if you look at a couple of videos on youtube many people do use Maschine to trigger effects/samples/loops and stuff with traktor.
Buffaz i did thanks for the advice iv gone with the maschine it seems more interesting!
KierenJames hahaha in one of ean goldens videos they said that maschine is going to work the remix decks very soon so dont stress about it 🙂September 14, 2012 at 2:20 pm #1012158KierenJames

KierenJames hahaha in one of ean goldens videos they said that maschine is going to work the remix decks very soon so dont stress about it 🙂Agreed! I have a maschine mikro and intially I started using it with maschine softtware just for production but when I got more comfortable with mapping in traktor I started using it as a midi controller. I use it to control my cue points and I have assigned effect combinations to different buttons while in midi mode. You can pretty much do what you want with it, very versatile which is why I like it because you def. get more bang for your buck! Would have been good if you picked it up while it was on sale this past whille.
If you wanted it to trigger yoour samples, as mentioned by Kiieren James above you would have control of the top row of samples. Keep in mind you will need to work with the controller manager in th NI folder to ge tthe functions working properly.
I’m sure when the new maschine and mikro come out they might just permanently lower the price on the olde rmodels.

While the F1 is the only controller with FULL remix deck control, the midi fighter 3D does work with them. You obviously don’t have the faders or knobs, and its missing the ability to capture, so it’s not great for building your sets. The MF3D can trigger all 4 pages of samples/loops though, and does have color coded visual feedback.
I have both, and while I certainly prefer the F1 for remix control, I have used the MF3D to control a second remix deck and it does work.

ParticipantBecause DJTT rewrote the firmware so it could switch from midi to HID mode.
that said, fair warning, based on the forums over there (DJTT), a lot of people have had trouble with the firmware update not working correctly. I have a MF3D myself and have had no problems with it myself, and from the threads I’ve read, most of the problems people have had were correctable, but still, if you want flawless integration, the F1 is a better choice. The Midi Fighter 3D is an option however, if you prefer their buttons for triggering.
The MF3D is an awesome piece of kit regardless, and I do highly recommend it.
