nice one too! but you call it 128orgfto and its labelled as a dubstep mix? doesn’t make sense to me!
and try to avoid vocals of 2 tracks at the same time!

Heya, listened to your September mix, was pretty cool! impressed by how many tracks you got into 10 mins. I’ll give it a go my self at some point. Here’s a mix I did, its 2 hours long but you don’t have to listen to it all, see what you think. http://www.mixcrate.com/kaosstweaker/electro-house-mix-11-09-12-201282

i edit every single song before i put it in my mix! so it drops only once and after the 1st drop an outro.
listening to your mix right now, really good!

Glad you liked it! I like the idea of this thread as feedback seems to be really hard to get these days! I’ll post more on here as I do them.

Hey Mr Soul Finger! I like the genre you mix. sounds nice. I would offer one tip which is to never have 2 bass lines playing at the same time, use your eq to swap the bass lines for a smoother transition. Most of your mixes were fine but i did notice on occasion a few clashes with your beat matching. May I ask what software / gear you use and whether you grid / prep your music before playing it?

To all that have posted keep up the good work, as that’s what were here for! support and constructive criticism!

Keep spinning!

Hey kaosstweaker,

I Use a Denon DN-MC6000 w/ Traktor Pro 2 on a Toshibia Sat Laptop 4 gb of ram…blah blah blah..:). As for how i prepare it, i just do a the mix first and see how it sound when i do it on the fly and then i mix it live. But please tell me how i can Grid and prep, and again thx for for Constructive Criticism. 🙂

I have the baby brother a Denon MC3000 and I also use Traktor pro 2. What I do is prep every new track that I add to my collection by making sure the beat grids are accurate, then I lock the grids so they stay that way. The beat grid technology in tractor pro 2 adds a lot of flexibility and also ensures the music stays in sync. when I started to dig deeper into tractor I looked on you tube and came across Ean Golden. He is the guru of traktor so it seems! if you look for some of his guides it will give you the fundamentals, even if some of his videos are on the previous version of traktor. eg..

Don’t rely on tracktor’s analysis of your tracks 100%. Usually it will get the tempo correct but it often puts the grid slightly off where it should be. With house music its usually pretty simple to fix. I look at the wave form an try to put the beat marker in a similar place on every different track. I put it just after what I call the attack of the beat. It’s a synthesizer term. If you look close up (use the zoom feature in traktor) you’ll see that before the bass drum is usually a high pitched area before the bass hit of the drum sound. That’s where I aline my grid points. Some people may do it different. It’s up to you at the end of the day, but that works for me.

I hope that helps you somewhat. If there is anything else I can help you with, please ask!

Regards

Hey I really thank you for the help. I never knew that. I need to really look into my Traktor more. But I will be asking you more questions…..so thanks for your insight. You will be hearing from me soon. And I will be getting a Denon dn-mc 3000 soon for my back system I bring to house parties and other small parties….how does it do for video? I know the big brother does awesome. I use it for sign lang. And other video presentations. So yeah I do alot.

To be honest I wouldn’t waste your money on getting the MC3000. It is a great controller but the MC6000 is all you need and is only slightly bigger than the baby brother MC3000 and offers the same functions plus better connectivity. When it comes to video, I am not very clued up on that. I have heard that virtual dj has a video function that both the MC6000 and MC3000 can utilise but I am no expert on that software so can’t be much help there.
