Very cool. Where in China? I’m in Hong Kong.

In Tianjin, it’s a TierII City close to Beijing.

I’ve heard of Tianjin, but not been there. Sadly, no gigs yet in HK, too many adult/professional responsiblitities. I haven’t learned much Cantonese yet, either. But I really need to get off my ass and do it (In fact, why am I hitting the QWERTYs instead of the cue buttons right now).

I think you missed my sizing up of the HK scene in an earlier post. I’d be curious how much my guesses about Tianjin are correct or not. Fascinating to hear they’re interested in house/electro out there, and not shitty canto-pop.

Thats cool man good for you. Ive been in 4 local clubs here in ho chi minh and there the same, tables and chairs everywhere, everyone sits around drinking coffee though Ive not been to any of the bigger clubs in the city yet. See dancing used to be seen as a sort of western evil here in Vietnam, they would build these nice big clubs and fill the dancefloor with tables and chairs though ive heard its starting to change. Got my second gig tonight, well this guy from new york who looks like dj sneak is coming to watch me and they say play what you want, im not going to that didnt work before so im going to play what they want which is electro im sure, similiar to this guys set http://www.digitaldjtips.com/forum/threads/electro-house-mini-mix-perry.6126/

If nothing else, this experience will improve your overall DJ skill set so it can’t be a bad thing.
