I can’t speak directly to your problem, but I would suspect something on the software end. If the hardware were having a problem, I would expect it to be much more dramatic (buttons not working at all, or cutting in and out). A delay in the software processing a command sounds like a setting in the software, or a driver issue.

That said, make sure you have the most up to date firmware on the Denon. There were a few minor glitches in the system when it was first launched that have been ironed out with firmware updates.

I’ve been using my 6000 since it was released in North America, and it’s a good, solid unit. Love it. Mind you, it’s also a totally different kind of beast than the NS7 – if you are looking for a scratch workflow with moving platters, well, the 6000 certainly isn’t your answer.

Thanks, Todd. Yep, the latest firmware has been installed so it must be something with Traktor. If I’m not too tired today and I’m going to run a jam session and see how it goes after tweaking it from yesterday. I just hope there’s no issue with Traktor resetting itself. It’s like one of those things where you’re still learning software, and you say to your self “now I know I didn’t uncheck that yesterday”. LOL

The NS7 is something totally different, you really cannot compare it to the MC 6k… not that it is generally better.
If you are a scratch DJ the NS7 is a dream, but I think the MC 6k offers more flexibility in a much smaller package.

Yes, I understand. And tonight was an equal fail for both Traktor and the MC6000. It has to be a software issue. Traktor doesn’t respond instantly. It’s as if the communication from the controller is a split second late and I get those train wrecks. If I hold the platter in place I can get a perfect mash. If I continuous press one of the hot cue buttons I can get an instant response. Sometimes the Cue and Play buttons work instantly, but as soon as you have both decks playing you can hear the train a mile a way.

This happened on both a Windows PC and Macbook. The latest firmware is installed on the MC6000. I had to shut Traktor down for all of the buttons on the MC6000 to light back up properly. Traktor what gives? It’s too early in the game for this to be happening. Maybe I should’ve stuck with Serato? I liked Serato, but the Serato DJ Intro was very limited with its settings and all.

I really don’t know how to tackle this problem. Will Traktor’s Techs be helpful with this sort of issue, or will they conclude it’s my computers and leave it alone?

I would give it a try and go to the NI website and open a support case. You payed for the software, so it should work…

Thanks for that tip. I will definitely open a case with them.

i will advice that you download virtual dj pro and give it a shot. If it works then you know if is a Traktor software problem. As well, how up-to-date is your MacBook? When was the last time you did a clean install. If it has been a while, it might be worthwhile – it takes time – with backup / restore etc but helps with debugging software hiccups. I do a clean install once a year … to ensure I start up afresh.

    good luck – Oyiwaa
