The TM4 has dedicated F/X buttons in Traktor… 4 to be exact. Just look at the mappings….

However if Traktor if your choice and you want a highend Traktor controller then I would check out the 4Trak as it is the best traditional design Traktor controller out there at the moment and also has nice jogs.
However for weddings I would not be as concerned, as usually until the “late night party” time you wont do much highend mixing as you have to play commercial Top40 anyways, unless you have a wedding of hardcore techno/house fans. So you might easily get away with the cheaper controller like the TM4, Jockey 3 ME or S2/S4.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I’ve seen some video reviews on the 4Trak, and I don’t mean to sound picky or anything, but… is it just me or does it look like some 1950’s control room? lol… I find it unattractive.

But I’ve been seriously considering the TM4, and from what I’ve read here on the forums, you happen to be an owner. Do you have any gripes or are there any shortcomings, be it minor or major?

I’m a proud terminal mix 4 owner and use it with traktor pro 2 with the 2deck+2sample deck mapping and i love it, i’m not a scratch dj so don’t need the tight jogwheel integration of the S2 and S4, but everything else on the TM4 is awesome, i highly recommend it. I have absolutely no gripes with it……when i first got it i had to update the firmware for the mapping to work, but the firmware update went very smooth.
I did a minor mapping adjustment to use the effects knobs as volume controls for the sample decks, i don’t use traktor pro 2.5 as i have no use for remix decks so i’m still using 2.1.3 with the 4 samples per deck.

^^^ Not to hijack the thread but would you mind sharing the traktor mapping?
cheers. As far a jog wheels go – adjust their sensitivity to about 26-29% and you will get a lot better feel.

Hi BoomBox, my mapping is the one i got off the reloop site for 2 decks and 2 sample decks, i just modded the mapping so the effects knobs control the sample volume, the only thing is a problem with the modifiers in traktor don’t allow for a button to be set as toggle ( which means you have to press and hold a button like a shift button to use effects knobs+sample volume) i wish i could modify a button so when it is pressed it changes effects knobs to sample volume until button is depressed, but as i said traktors modifiers don’t allow the button to be set as toggle….so rather than using a button like a shift button my effects knobs control both effects amount and sample volume at same time…..which means you either use effects but do not play samples or play samples but not use effects.
next time i’m on my laptop i’ll get the mapping for you.

Ahh i see what you are saying. No need to get the mapping but thank you anyway. I can play around and map the knobs myself i think.

The controllers the tightest Traktor integration, I’d say either the NI Kontrol S4 or the VCI 400 EGE.
If you’re on a budget, then the NI Kontrol S2.
