Mountain Lion is currently “not supported” by Serato Scratch-Live, Itch and DJ Intro. Not to say that it won’t work, but they clearly wanted to make this known as they posted it on FB earlier.

Beta driver? You do not need a driver to use Traktor on a mac. You just plug in your controller and fire up Traktor.

actaulyl got the information from uniuq squarred blog….below insert…perhaps I mis read?

“If you just can’t stand the idea of going over and looking for yourself, the known affected devices are:
    AUDIO 2 DJ / AUDIO 4 DJ / AUDIO 8 DJ
    AUDIO KONTROL 1
    GUITAR RIG MOBILE
    GUITAR RIG SESSION
    KORE 1
    RIG KONTROL 2 / RIG KONTROL 3
    TRAKTOR AUDIO 2
    TRAKTOR KONTROL S4
So, while this was initially supposed to have been a USB 3.0 problem, it is becoming clear that the shenanigans extend into the OS as well. Native are busily working on a fix for their users in conjunction with Apple and there are currently Beta drivers available for the fix. Based on what I am reading, there are also some Core Audio issues with some Avid hardware running non-Pro Tools applications. I assume there will be other issues that pop up as people that own the various interfaces make the jump”

Ah OK, that is an issue with CoreAudio and the new USB 3.0 ports on the new MacBooks, since my 2 MacBooks are 1 and 4 years old I do not have USB 3 and hence no problem hehe

Terry how did you find Mountain Lion affected the general performance for your Macs? Faster, slower or anything worth noting? Did you find it affected cpu load or anything with Traktor and VDJ? I run Snow Leopard and can’t really find any legitimate reason to update except for self gratification of knowing I have the latest OS…I’m terrible. I’m not sure if I’m talking myself in or out of the idea of upgrading.

Well after 2 days I have to say Mountain Lion is a bit faster than Lion, but it has a slightly bigger memory footprint, which does not bother me since I have 4gigs in my Laptops and 16 in my iMac and it is still considerably less memory hungry than windows.
Overall you do not feel the speed increase immensely but everything feels a bit more “snappy”, if you know what I mean.
I could not see any increase in the CPU need of the software packages, not that I trust the CPU meters that much… I also have “iStat Menus” installed and it also says there is no diff in CPU need.

I have the NS6 and Serato Itch does not detect the controller. It’s a known issue apparently. I ended up having to buy a Mac Mini that had Lion and just use it as a dedicated machine for my mixing.
