i would think about a swap yes but not the particular 1 you suggest as the DJX750 has a poor reputation if it was a DJM600 id have no question about it tho

2 old CDJs and a mixer that is total crap for a controller that is pretty decent…. let me think, oh wait no I do not need to think. NEVER.

Nah, To me it would be like a downgrade. I really think cdj’s in a digital age are obsolete.

The only CDJs I’d actually buy for home are the 2000s, and those are a hell of a lot more than an S4 AND a new laptop.

As others above mentioned, there’s no price comparison. A top of the range controller setup won’t even cost as much as 1 brand new CDJ-2000. Besides the flexibility with assigning controls and how something like the S4 for instance controls effects it would be tough to part with my digital gear completely but a laptop + nice mixer + set of CDJ2000s running advanced HID is pretty damn nice. Still haven’t found a controller with jogs and general layout that is completely on par with these CDJs. Many people say the Numark NS6 but please no friggin way.

I see no advantage for my style in CDJs, so even if money was no issue I would not buy any.
I even think that the high-end controllers for each software (NS7/6 for Itch, 4Trak for Traktor, VCI-400 for VDJ) are superior in their flexibility to any CDJ layout I can come up with, apart from the nice built in screens on the CDJs and the funky lights in the jogs… I actually prefer controller jogwheels (especially that of the terminal mix and NS6) to the CDJ 2000 jogs. (Insert 4Trak if you are a Traktor fan…)
