Nice one Proto – glad the move back to spinning was so easy. I’ve just done it myself and am new to the digital world of DJing. There are some great tips there – Playlists was the big one for me. I am used to flicking through album covers to search my music, so a long library list of track names was really tough for me to get my head around. Lots of playlists sorted into a big variety of genres, such as Hip Swingers (down), Hip Swingers (up), Winners, etc really helped.

Also +1 on the requests. We are nothing without our audience. I will express regret that I “didn’t bring” the shit track they are asking for. I love it when people come and ask me what that last song was.

    Nice work fella!

    Hey Bunyip,

thanks buddy. I remember those days of anxiously flipping through a sleeve of CDs or a box of records as the track was running out. Especially when turntables did not come with loops! Playlists and Itunes make it a breeze these days.

Ha – yeah. And then choosing a record. Putting it on, cuing it up, and then deciding it’s the wrong choice!

    Hi Terry,

Thank you for your kind words. We all learn from one another.

It would have been great to have such a nice community back in the day when I first started. Cheers buddy.

    Here is another classic Bunyip.

Cigarette ash getting onto the record that is in play, resulting in frantic huffing and puffing trying to get the ash off before the stylus reaches the area in question! Fond (not!) memories… Lol

Then again, I worry about dropping drinks on the laptop now…

Haha I love that one. I remember when I started as a DJ in a club with really bad turntables the ash still burning went on the vinyl and in my panic I slapped on the vinyl, the needle went across and the arm flying… I almost slaughtered the turntable haha
