It’s probably a good idea to get into the habit of setting gain manually, it’s not so hard and it’ll serve you well if ou ever DJ on non-digital gear.

Hi Phil, i think you may have slightly mis-understood, I always maually set gain but the problem is that the software or controller doesnt allow me to set the gain. The lowest gain setting or in other words peaks over zero around plus 4-6 in the red. İts really strange.

Ok while Traktor Pro does a good job with autogain, I have disabled it and could replicate your problem on my TM4 with Traktor Pro 2.5
Now the usual way other DJ software works if it autogains you gain knob is “offset”, so you have to to to the point where the software gain is at and then start adjusting. However Traktor ignored me 🙂 but did it the second time.
So I do not know if this workaround would help you in Traktor LE (and it is quite annoying) but what I did is: Turn my gain to the matching point looking in the software and then wobbling around that point 2-4 times and then setting it right.
Maybe you can give that a shot or maybe one of our Traktor Pros can give you a better workaround or setting.

Although this doesn’t really answer your question, I would honestly consider turning auto gain off. As Phil stated, it will serve you better if you use non digital gear. I’ve also found in my experience, as long as you get your music from reputable (read: legal) places, the volume will be the same the vast majority of the time.
