As far as I know the only way to “obtain” a LE version of Traktor (or any DJ software for that matter) is coming bundled with a controller.

You may be able to buy/get a license off someone who bought a controller who already had a Traktor Pro 2 and did not need it.

    I hope this helps.

The LE versions are not really very good and you’ll quickly outgrow then. I’d go for Duo if I were you – it’s not a huge expense.

Im thinking that also.. But i can only get Traktor full version later like a month or two from now. Would duo be a good idea to get running a Mixtrack?

So does Traktor 2 Duo support controllers? Because, on the NI website’s comparison chart, the feature “assignable crossfader on internal mixer” is marked as “fixed” and the other feature “Sync w/ MASCHINE & other performance tools” is unchecked. I am wondering weather I can map my MIDI controller (Mixtrack Pro) and the one I am going to buy (Denon DN sc-2000), ’cause I’ve never used Traktor, but I don’t want to buy Pro, Duo will be fine for my needs if it can be used with MIDI controllers.

The cross fader is “fixed” because there are only 2 decks so there’s nothing other than those to assign it to. Duo is more limited than Pro but is still Midi mappable. You may eventually wish you’d gone for Pro though…

I can agree that you will be looking for the functions of Pro once you get deeper into using the software. Keep yours eyes open down the road, NI sometimes offers deals on upgrading to different versions. I was lucky enough to upgrade to Pro2 recently and it is the bomb.
