you could maybe get a stanton scs1d & scs1m for around that, I have seen the pair go for $500 new a couple of times on eBay in Australia. The deck has the same motor as super OEM’s, It’s a dual layer controller with a motorised pitch fader. The mixer is high quality and the crossfader is replaceable with an innofader although you shouldn’t need to replace it as it’s solid as is.

The major drawback is the looks (I don’t like the two tone), it’s firewire not usb and the traktor intigration of the platters is poor (that’s why it’s cheap). By reports it works perfectly with the current version of VDJ Pro and should be native to VDJ8 as stanton is supposed to re-release the unit with VDJ along with their scs3d system.
