You’d ideally need a phono preamp to do it, as the output from the record decks is too quiet to rip directly to a laptop. If you had an old hifi amp with a phono in, you could do it that way, plugging the Rec Out for the tape deck direct to your computer line in. Any analogue DJ mixer can do it for you too, of course. As always, trust your ears.

Hi phil thanks for replying, ı understand that İ need a phono pre-amp, however my turntabe has a digital out, although i guess if i use that in addition to my laptop soundcard i will be converting the signal twice which may degrade the rip even further, but i think your advice about trusting your ears is important. I will give it a go.

So it has a USB out? that means it should have some drivers (or not need them on a mac)

It has a switch on the back whlch l believe is a phono pre amp.
It also has a digital out not a usb..it looks like an rca input but a single one.
When flicking the switch to digital the signal becomes much
Louder. By the way i connect the turntable via phono rca inputs
Direct to my active speakers or of i wisj into my line in laptop.

Ah, right. No, a digital out isn’t going to help in this case.
