I would recommend to also check out the Reloop Digital Jockey 3 and Terminal Mix 2/4 and invest the rest in good speaker monitors.
But you should try which controller performs best for you. So try before buy is always good.
The S4 is IMHO hugely overrated.

well the terminals are serato so I’m probably bot going to go for that, and the digital jockey has less features than s4. S4 is pretty expensive but it kind of has a lot of interesting features as well.

    Have you considered the S2?

yea but I’m still keeping my options open to other traktor controllers as I’m new to this and i still don’t know which one would be the best for me

I would have to disagree with Terry…S4 hands down for Traktor. No other controller is integrated as tightly. The proprietary midi communication is super tight, even with higher set latency. It may not have as rugged build as some other controllers nor the best jogwheels out there but is still very decent.

    so you’d go for S4?

I would/did go for the S4 as I use Traktor (in my opinion none of the other brands come close).
My second choice would probably have been A Vestax VCI400. This would require manual mapping but its a fantastically designed and built controller.

would it be a good idea to get a CDJ at the beginning if i get it in my budget?

What advantage do you honestly think a CDJ would give you?
(Not mentioning the fact that a propper CDJ setup to work with Traktor would cost you around 2000 bucks)

There’s definitely nothing wrong with CDJs but they are a much more expensive setup and aren’t nearly as flexible as midi controllers. For CDJs that wont be outdated anytime soon ie supports HID, USB sticks etc (think Pioneer 2000/900 or possibly the Denon 2900/3900) it will cost you a small fortune. If you are looking for something similar then go for something with better jogwheels which is the only real advantage besides playing CDs – you’ll find most of the people using these don’t even play CDs with them now though
