ParticipantI just signed up to get the June 7th email. I can;t see it being anything than a toy with minimal functions…at this time. But its exciting to see development happening.

ParticipantI’m really interested i getting in to so VJing in the future. I wish Native would made an add on for Traktor but from what I understand, they have stated they have no interest in having anything to do with video.

You can try this out right now, from the guys that make Baby Scratch.
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/vscratch/id524708277?mt=8
I think this app will be really useful to a lot of people, mainly because it has pitch control. I can see a lot of situations where you would use the iPad to play a video source, and do your typical mixing with your controller, TT, software etc. I think the simplicity, yet, very precise “vinyl control” in VSCRATCH is going to impress a lot of people, and satisfy the old-schoolers by making mixing “manual”..anyways check out the app. Tell ’em Steve sent ya haha, (these days I feel like I’ve lost my “influential” touch) , but I have some stuff in the works for showing the potential of not only the VSCRATCH app, but video in general.June 4, 2012 at 6:32 pm #1005594Steelo

Is it scratching via the touchscreen or you can run it through other software?

you scratch with the touchscreen. there is a dotted circle on the screen for positional reference. You can kind of, move your hand in non-circular directions, and you can grab the video anywhere on the screen. It’s actually really cool. Don’t worry about it not making sense, back at Christmas, when I was sent the beta, I didn’t even realize it was for scratching. 🙂
It has forward and reverse, also. So when you combine “hands on manual control” with pitch, it’s actually very powerfulJune 5, 2012 at 12:39 pm #1005673Terry_42
KeymasterLooks cool, I am kinda in AAAHHH mode by the fact alone, that the iPad does deliver the processing to actually do this.
I own a 27” 2011 iMac (i7) and use FinalCut for my videos and on the fly rendering takes my machine to the limit with the live previews… now I know that this does a lot less intensive stuff, but nonetheless very impressive stuff… -
