I don thave the s4 I have the s2 nor have I fully looked at some of the new mappable features HOWEVER….I would say not to rule out your laptop as a midi controller for extra control. I have mapped some kill switches keys on the keyboard I never really use.

I own an S4. I also own the F1 but I’ll see what I can squeeze out of running the S4 alone and get back to you.

Thanks! I think there should be something possible. And if not, then maybe mapping on the keyboard of your laptop like ML said is not a crazy idea.

I’ve got 2.5 running with the S4, a few bugs, which seem to be fairly common from reading other users’ experiences although my biggest problem is the huge increase in memory use, 2.0.3 used approx 80-90BMB RAM, 2.5 450MB RAM+.

This increase in RAM usage is not good… Wouldn’t this increase the frequency of the audio drops and pops common in Traktor?

This particular issue has been hit and miss. Some people experienced more ram usage, for others it dropped (myself included). If your CPU load increases then yes you may get more audio drops and pops. It is to be expected that perhaps a slight increase would happen as there was some significant features added (the remix decks being the main one). It seems quite sensitive to latency changes. Only a slight increase in latency may drop your ram usage significantly.
