When utilizing the key lock funtion, is it possible to turn key lock off, adjust the tempo of a song (and therefore the key), and then activate key lock so that the song gets locked in the alternate key and the bpm can be manipulated without changing the key?
Put another way, can I take a song that’s in C, adjust my tempo +6% to put it in D, then key lock it in D?
I only DJ occasionally on my friend’s equipment and use Serato Scratch Live and am not completely familiar with all of the software’s capabilities but when I’ve tried to do this, the key lock function always sets back to the original key.
as far as i understand, when you key lock, you lock the track into its original key. however traktor (and probably other softwares too) has a function where you can directly change the key of a song without changing the tempo
