I have one that I use with vdj, it’s great quality construction but i never realy use it because of the omission of a pitch fader… the default mapping for both vdj and traktor controls the volume with the jog when its unshifted and you control the gain and eq when the led ring effects knobs are shifted. If your prepared to use sync with an external mixer its fantastic, but on it’s own you will tire of having to use shifts for everything… a better controller would perhaps be the behringer when it gets released as it has a jog, 8 endless encoders, transport, hotcue and loop buttons… unfortunately it has a short throw pitch fader though.

behringer said it would get released in may during NAMM which apparently has been pushed back, but it can’t be too far off.

^Thanks, the Behringer looks OK. Is there a way around the pitch fader ie?, way to implement it?

Like I said I really need access to effects/filter and platter to play records, create loops, change loop timings so I can sample from to the MPC. I generally don’t mind if there’s no pitch fade as long as there’s a manner in which I can access to the function.

Also I’m confused, the interface has audio outputs. I be putting it in standalone mode. In the PDF it says I connect via USB which is simple enough, however, I connect the output 1 to the speakers or in this case to the record in of the MPC. So the Contour generates sound?.

one of the endless knobs is shifted to allow you to change the pitch i believe. for me it’s not a good way to control your software as you need to look at the skin to know around about where the slider position is.

It doesn’t have any audio inputs but it has 8 outputs for 4 decks of sound. so you could easily route one to plug into your mpc. I don’t use traktor so not sure how to do it, but in vdj I would say it would be best to create a booth out and route that to the mpc if you still want to use the master out.

I don’t think I mind that, the number one point I need is hands on control over the loops, loop length, filters and effects with a jog wheel to jump round the record to sample from.

I don’t think I need pitch for this. However, I do quite find important is the sync and key function. Could I still say load up track a as master, then load another song in b the press a button for the sync and key?.

    Thanks for the reply.

yes ofcoarse you can, but you need to shift between the deck layers if you only get one unit which is rather clumsy and easy to accidently play/stop/cue/etc.. the wrong deck if your not paying enough attention. in regards to key you could easily map the other absolute knob to handle that.
