    Mapping is basically programming the instructions for how your controller will affect the software you use. For instance you would map the cue button on your controller to cue the track in your software.

    mapping is awesome, you can make controllers do crazy things, or just change some minor things to suit you better… I prefer stupidly crazy mappings. Traktor’s good at it but VDJ Pro is better.

    mapping makes your equipment work for you, its basically telling you software what button,knob, fader does what. this way it makes ur life easier. some equipment is “natively” mapped meaning the labels do what they say when used in conjunction with the software, but the fun of mapping means you can evolve or change your setup to suit your style or enviroment. its fun.
