    Check out this post: http://www.digitaldjtips.com/forum/threads/have-you-ever-face-the-genre-problem.3395/

My first MIDI controller was an Akai MPD-26 which I’m still using today, needs a separate mixer and audio interface though since it’s really only a controller.

If I’m doing a mix that’s a bit of a stretch like that I’ll slowly speed up the first track through the entire length of it, using your example to about 130, mix into the next one at 130 and then slowly bring it up to speed over the length of it. Unless there is an obvious break in the second track, in which case I just make the adjustment then and when the beat kicks back in we’re back in business.

Yeah, you reminded me of something I’ve forgotten:

If the tracks are far apart enough in tempo you can try to go the double/half tempo on one of them (works with some Dubstep/Glitch Hop tracks which usually fit into Electro House nicely for example), so one bar of one track will be equal to two bars on the other one, with the beat sounding as if ithey were in sync.

Another option that i use alot when i am cross genres is cut out your highs and your lows of the 2nd track…the highs and lows are often where the rhythem of the song is found while the mids is more of the synths and vocals, to blend in your 2nd track…this doesnt always work but for the occasional song it does.

Another option that has worked for me, but is a little trickier…sync the 2nd song to the first song with keylock, have your 2nd song be the master tempo, drop the 2nd track in on the beginning of the build, and on the outtro of the 1st song…when the 2nd song is about to drop kick the bpm to the original tempo of the 2nd song and off you go.

Very simple solution to your problem Beepo

Use VDJ’s Key Lock and all your tracks will sound like the original just at a different tempo
