Beatport Offers Full-Track Listening & Drops Prices For Link Users

Beatport Link just got cheaper, although we think it has some way to go to appeal to the majority of DJs. The full-length streaming they've added to the Beatport store is cool for Link users, though.

Beatport Link is the music streaming arm of Beatport, offering practically the whole of the Beatport catalogue for streaming within compatible DJ software without purchase – and the company has just announced two changes for its subscribers.

Firstly, you can now listen to full tracks within the Beatport store – as long as you are a Beatport Link subscriber. This removes a bugbear with online stores in general, and is a much-requested feature, allowing DJs to properly listen to song before adding to their streaming playlists or, indeed, buying.

Beatport has also dropped by 25% the – admittedly previously astronomical – prices of the two higher tiers of Beatport Link: Link Pro is now $30/month, and Link Pro+ is $45 a month, with 50 and 100 track offline lockers respectively.

The basic Link subscription (lower quality audio, no offline locker) is unchanged at $15/month.

Beatport Link is currently available in Pioneer Rekordbox, Algoriddim Djay/Djay Pro, Hercules DJUCED and Virtual DJ, with Denon Engine OS coming soon.
