SoundSwitch v2.2 Adds Phrase Detection & New Hardware Support

Soundswitch now works with standalone hardware, and has song section detection for more accurate lightshows.

SoundSwitch, the lighting automation solution aimed at solo DJs who want to do more than just hit “sound to light” with their DJ lights, just got a major software upgrade.

Version 2.2 of the software now has phrase detection so that the light shows it produces can emphasise the most dramatic points in the music, not only bar-by-bar but also structurally (ie recognising the drop). This is the headline improvement of a number which take together represent a big leap forward in the capabilities of its lighting automation feature set.

There is also support for more standalone Dj hardware from Denon DJ, namely the SC6000, SC6000M, X1850, Prime 2 and Prime GO.

SoundSwitch can be trialled for free for a month with a compatible DMX interface, while SoundSwitch branded interfaces, including the Micro DMX Interface, include a three-month software subscription. Subscription is $8 a month or $80 a year.

The software is compatible with various DJ platforms such as Engine OS, Serato DJ, Virtual DJ, and any DJ or DAW application that offers Ableton Link functionality.
