“Don’t Get Upset About Colonel Sanders DJing” – Episode 19 Of Our DJ School Vlog

While the PR stunt was quite horrible, here's why tacky stuff like this doesn't really matter in the long run.

So KFC paid to have a mascot of its founder play a DJ set at Ultra Music Festival this past week. The DJ world is up in arms, and all kinds of people – including a mouse and a marshmallow – are weighing in. In a way, rightfully so – it was crass and embarrassing.

But in this vlog, I explain why in the bigger scheme of things, this is actually not necessarily a bad thing for DJs. I draw on some of the things I discussed with Laidback Luke while working with him today, and I hope you find some of the content of the vlog useful. I’d love to know your thoughts.

This is episode 19 of my 40-part weekly Learn to DJ vlog, where I’m sharing the journey as we make something brand new called “The Complete DJ Course” – the most ambitious DJ tutorial course Digital DJ Tips has ever offered to its students.

In the vlog I’m sharing extra little secrets, nuggets and surprising insights, aside from what will eventually be in the course. Plus some “behind the scenes” stuff around how this kind of thing gets done here at Digital DJ Tips. You can ask questions, and I’ll make sure I reply to every one of them.
