Students of our Dance Music Formula and Music Production For DJs courses (and, of course, users of Ableton Live in general) will be interested to hear about the release of TouchAble Pro, a controller app for Ableton Live that runs on your iOS, Android or Windows touchscreen device, giving you a Wifi-connected control interface for the music production platform.
The app lets you control transport, metronome, cues an quantisation; trigger clips; arm, mute and solo tracks; adjust monitoring and mixing; control X/Y parameters; navigate the browser, and more, requiring you to simply install a helper app on the PC or Mac running Ableton Live for everything to work.
The new Pro version of this app that’s been around for several years now offers new layout options, piano roll editing, animation drawing/editing free templates for Live devices, a template builder, Max for Live support, and the ability to have templates load automatically when you load the corresponding Set in Live.
