Rapidly growing producer service Splice is encouraging users to take advantage of its new and novel way to buy plugins for their production software.
Described as “rent-to-own”, the idea is that you pay a monthly rental for plugins, paying until you own the licence outright. Splice says it is designed to allow more musicians to get instant access to the plugins the pros use for as little as $7.99/month.
Splice is possibly best known for its subscription sample and loop service, but this is one of the add-on services the company offers that it hopes will differentiate it from the competition. Rent-to-own comes with a three-month trial, and you can find out more at splice.com.
