Pioneer DJ has added SoundCloud support to its iOS mix recording app DJM-REC. The app, which Pioneer DJ announced earlier this year, lets DJs record mixes directly via their device charging cable from Pioneer DJ mixers that offer USB out, and it also works with output from any iOS-compatible sound card, such as Evermix’s MixBox, meaning you can use it this way with any controller or mixer.
Before this update, you could livestream directly to Facebook, YouTube and Instagram and share to Mixcloud, but now that Pioneer DJ has added SoundCloud compatibility, you can upload your mix directly from your iPhone or iPad to the popular sharing platform. How long your mix stays there is, of course, another question entirely, judging by SoundCloud’s record for removing DJ mixes over copyright infringements – so your results may vary.
