DJ Tips & Tricks: How To Use The Sandbox In Virtual DJ To Preview Transitions

Virtual DJ's "sandbox" feature lets you preview your next mix, listen ahead in your current song, set cue points "in the future"... all while your audience is oblivious. Find out how in today's lesson.

Virtual DJ’s “sandbox” feature is not as well known as it should be, as it’s a fantastic way of “trying out” your next mix, even when you’re in the middle of a DJ set. In this video, I’ll show you how it’s done and demo it in action for you.

If it’s not working for you, make sure you’re in two-deck mode (it doesn’t work with four decks), make sure you actually have your gear set up so your headphones are enabled for pre-cueing, and finally, check that only one deck is currently playing “live” (it won’t work if more than one audio source is playing).
