Ditch Those Leads With Numark Production Hub

A simple idea, but certainly something digital DJs with several pieces of hardware and complex USB set-ups might want to look at…

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen something like this (American DJ had something similar on show at NAMM 2017, which we covered in our Best of the Rest post), but it is worth revisiting the simple yet practical idea you see here, in this instance, in the Numark Production Hub.

Here’s a set-up using the Production Hub, showing how it could be used.

What we have here is a surge-protected multi socket, with a built-in USB hub, and a separate USB socket for charging your phone and so on. It means that even if you only have one or two USB sockets on your laptop, with this, you can not only plug in all your gear (laptop, controller, FX unit…) both to electricity and to your laptop, safely and from a single unit.

It’s metal-built, has EMI and RFI filtering, and a nice long 6ft cable, but if you like the look of it, be prepared to shell out: It costs a not-insubstantial $79. (Let’s also hope UK and EU and other versions come, too.)
