Serato Goes Subscription

Serato just announced the Serato DJ 1.9.2 public beta, an update which includes the ability to access Serato DJ through a monthly subscription model.

Serato just released the public beta of Serato DJ 1.9.2, which among other changes now includes the option to purchase Serato DJ through a subscription, instead of buying it outright. There are two plans to choose from: US$9.99/month for Serato DJ, and US$14.99/month for the full Serato DJ Suite.

In other changes, there’s also a new secondary library sort feature, as well as the ability for Smart Crates to become subcrates, and to name saved loops.

What’s a public beta?

A public beta isn’t the final version of the software update, so this is for those who want to test the new features knowing that it might still have a few bugs. If you want to sign up for it, don’t forget to back up your data and install it separately from your current Serato DJ installation.

• The Serato DJ 1.9.2 public beta is now open. Check the Serato DJ website for more details.

What do you think about this new update? Do you like where Serato DJ is headed? What features would you like to see it have onboard in the coming versions? Share your thoughts below.
