[NAMM 2016] Gemini SDJ-2000 DJ Controller Video Talkthrough

Gemini has a prototype “no laptop required” DJ controller on display here at the NAMM Show.

Well they wouldn’t even take the lid off this prototype for us (boo!), but we thought we’d film anyway to give you a better sense of what this four-channel controller with built-in 7″ screen is likely to look like when it appears in the wild later this year post-NAMM.

Apparently the finished model will be slightly bigger than the working prototype that Gemini had at the show, but the basics – four channels, playback from USB, ability to plug in two Gemini media players for true four-deck USB DJing – are all decided.

As always, we’ll be gunning for the first model out of the factory to bring you a review of the unit just as soon as it’s available, meanwhile here’s the video…

Do you like the look of this? Would you shell out the US$799 asking price for an all-in-one controller of this type? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
