How The Turntable Of The Future Might Look

It’s an intriguing idea, but we don’t think we’ll be seeing a turntable like this any time soon… Pic: Not DJWorx…;)

Well, maybe not, but it got your attention…. right? This conceptual mock-up picture popped up in our VIP Platinum Facebook Group, promoting a huge discussion about where the turntable might go from here. But while it’s certainly eye-catching, there are certain obvious flaws in our view that mean we don’t think you’ll see a Serato-enabled turntable like this any time soon.

Firstly, we’ve never seen a screen that shape (look at how Numark has had to use three smaller screens on its NS7III), secondly there are no parallel waveforms (we LOVE parallel waveforms), and thirdly unless there was a computer built in somewhere in such a set-up you’d still need a laptop anyway, so really, what’s the point?

Anyway, it’s a fun pic and we thought we’d share it! Thanks to Phil Worrell and Dan Rosanova over in Facebook Land for sourcing it.

Would you like to own a pair of these? How do you think the turntable should develop in the 21st century? Let us know your thoughts below!
