Native Instruments has quietly released a custom flight case for its flagship Traktor Kontrol S8 controller. Meant to protect the controller both in use and in transport, the wood/aluminium Traktor Kontrol S8 Flight Case is a classic “hard” case, and comes with detachable front and rear panels for easy access to connectors and controls, stackable Velcro-lined foam pads fgor a tight fit, and a pouch to keep all your leads tidy. It also has butterfly locks, a removable top lid.
While cases like this aren’t for everyone (it’s bulky and heavy), they are the best protection possible? Though larger than most controllers, the Traktor Kontrol S8 isn’t as unwieldy as two turntables and a mixer, (neither is it as big as a Pioneer DDJ-SZ!) so a flight case like this is still practical. It makes a professional bit of kit look even better, especially when used as the nerve centre for a CDJ / DVS set-up because it elevates the Kontrol S8 to industry-standard DJ hardware height.
