Pioneer DDJ-SZ Flagship Serato DJ Controller Launched

The all-featured Pioneer DDJ-SZ is the company’s new flagship Serato DJ controller.

Pioneer has today launched a new flagship Serato DJ controller, the DDJ-SZ.

Designed to emulate the layout of a club-standard CDJ-2000NXS players and DJM-900SRT pro DJ booth set-up, the bigger, brighter DDJ-SZ has on-jog display with illuminated cue point markers, and large performance pads with customisable multi-coloured hot cue LEDs.

In a first for a DJ controller, the unit boasts two USB sound cards enable seamless switching between DJs. It has a magnetic crossfader, supports DVS control and has effects and filters on every channel, including the two mics and the sampler.

A multitude of inputs and outputs make this the most versatile Serato DJ controller on the market.

Of course, it can be used as a standalone mixer too, and has all the modern standards such as slip mode. Pioneer is making a point of the fact that it is Midi compatible so can be mapped to other DJ software too if required.

It is priced at a hefty €1,999 / £1,749, and you can find out more about the DDJ-SZ here, and watch the walkthrough video here.

The controller is designed to closely emulate the look and feel of a pro Pioneer DJ booth set-up.

Is your mouth watering at the idea of this? Or is it a ridiculous price to ask to drop for a DJ controller? We’d love to hear your thoughts below.
