NAMM 2014: Allen & Heath Xone:23 2-Channel DJ Mixer Video Talkthrough

We got a look at the new Allen & Heath Xone:23, updated from the venerable old Xone:22, and here we have a quick close-up video and talkthrough of it straight from the NAMM 2014 floor. What differentiates this from many other two-channel mixers is Allen & Heath’s trademark filters, and here you can see they’ve got high and low pass filters, plus frequency and resonance controls. Trust us, once you get mixing on this, you’re going to find they are highly addictive (we had a play!) and they’re definitely the thing that’ll shift units of this over other similar items.

We think every DJ needs a two channel mixer, even if you Dj with a controller; you’ll end up using it for easy switchovers, for doing web radio, for impromptu hooking up of kit for parties – it’s one of those things that once you’ve owned one, you’ll never want to be without one. And as it’s Innofader compatible, scratch DJs will find it friendly for their needs too.

Do you like the fact that there is a massive filter section on an otherwise pretty basic mixer here? Have you got a two-channel mixer in your arsenal that you can’t live without? Share your thoughts in the comments!
