The rapidly improving Cross software from Mixvibes has just reached v3, with the big additions this time being video mixing as standard, the addition of Pioneer DJM-style effects, and frequency-coloured waveforms.
This PC/Mac DJ program is compatible with over 80 DJ controllers and has support for Pioneer CDJs with HID control, as well as compatibility with Pioneer’s rekordbox music library software (which is also, in fact, made by Mixvibes), a video sampler, and DVS capability.
The software is available in three variants – Cross DJ Free, Cross DJ and Cross, and you can find out more about them on the recently relaunched and much improved Mixvibes website. There’s also a promo video.
Mixvibes is leveraging both its software development competency and its business relationship with Pioneer to the max at the moment, and the recent swathe of updates is certainly aligning the company as an intriguing contender against the bigger names in DJ software.
